The Perfumed Plume Awards™ is now jump-starting a second bigger and better year to continue the mission of recognizing creative storytelling that enlightens, engages and educates the consumer on the art and craft of fragrance. Well on the way to becoming THE iconic symbol of media excellence, the award showcases writers whose published editorials or books provide a broader awareness, appreciation and passion for fragrance through high quality, informative and of course entertaining “scent-centric” storytelling.
Lyn Leigh and Mary Ellen Lapsansky, co-founders, launched this wholly independent initiative in 2015 in partnership with an inspiring and collaborative Consulting Committee and with the support of founding sponsors MANE, SGD, Perfumania, Parlux Ltd., Cross, Groupe Pochet, Morgan StanleyFinancial Advisor Michelle Arpin Begina, Perfumer & Flavorist and GCI.
“Going forward we are delighted to announce some changes to the criteria in two categories,” said Mary Ellen Lapsansky. “In the Digital Media category, the Perfumed Plume will accept international submissions as long as the site has a strong US following and the editorials are written in the English language. In the Fragrance Book category, submissions will be open to non-fiction as well as fiction, as long as the fragrance content in the fiction books is accurate and informative.”
“We are so excited to go into our second year and look forward to receiving a maximum number of submissions to really fire up the competitive juices now that we have established the Perfumed Plume Awards™ as a “must-win” for writers focused on in-depth fragrance story-telling.” commented Lyn Leigh.
The Perfumed Plume welcomes two new Consulting Committee members who will bring their own super-powers to move the Perfumed Plume Awards™ onward and upwards: Sheherazade Chamlou, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Verescence North America and Bart Schmidt, Managing Partner, Brands with Purpose.
Submissions will be accepted through the Perfumed Plume Awards™ website portal starting Tuesday, November 1, 2016 through Tuesday, January 31, 2017.
