New York N.Y. 3/16/2018. It was a fun and buzzy evening at downtown fragrance discovery destination Perfumarië last night as media, fragrance writers/journalists, fragrance entrepreneurs and influencers gathered at the reveal of the finalists for the 2018 Perfumed Plume Awards announced by Co-Founders Mary Ellen Lapsansky and Lyn Leigh. Guests sipped on special “Mango Blossom” cocktails and delicious tastings by hot new YaVe Tequila.
Voting was carried out by an independent panel of judges - http://perfumedplume.com/judges-perfume-stories.html - whose ballots were tabulated by the outside accounting firm, Sperduto Spector & Company. The 2018 finalists were determined by the highest percentage scores received based on the criteria for each category: fragrance articles must focus on generic information about scent in an original, creative and unique style that engages and educates the consumer on the art and craft of fragrance. The articles should give an inside view of the cultural, historic, scientific and personal approaches to fragrance design and what it takes to create an evocative scent.
The winners will be revealed on April 11 at the awards ceremony & celebration in their honor at the Society of Illustrators, New York City. “We sincerely thank ALL the writers who submitted the most wonderfully fascinating fragrance stories.” said Lyn Leigh. “We owe a debt of gratitude and appreciation to the distinguished judging panel for their diligence and expertise in reading each and every creative perfume story - carefully evaluating all elements of the criteria and voting accordingly,” commented Mary Ellen Lapsansky.
